Published in The Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Friday, February 1, 2019, Page 7A. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Joan Ruth Carr, of Oklahoma City, passed away January 29, 2019 at the age of 78. She was born November 7, 1940 in Yukon, OK, to William Anderson & Emma C. Lay. Joan was an LPN at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid for several years and maintained her license even after she was disabled. She enjoyed reading books. Joan enjoyed being outside and she always had hummingbird feeders and loved watching them while sitting on her back-porch swing. Her first love was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Joan is survived by 3 children, Ronald Carr & wife, Sandra, Michael Carr, and Gregory Carr & wife, Raha Nael; 4 grandchildren, Lisa Carr, Bradley Carr, Ethan Carr and Emma Carr; siblings, Paula Hendrickson & husband, Gene, David Lay, and Betty Ross; sister-in-law, Barbara Conrad; and a host of other loving family members. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Carr; grandson, Tim Fagan; and 7 siblings. Funeral Services for Joan will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK. Interment to follow at Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
