Bio
Funeral services for Ada May Tate, 97, of Woodson, were held on Sunday, December 16, 1990 at 2 p.m. at Woodson First Baptist Church. Rev. Ricky Mitchell, pastor officiated. Burial followed in Woodson Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Mrs. Tate died Friday night, December 14, 1990, in Graham General Hospital. She was born on February 14, 1893 in Oklahoma Indian Territory. She attended schools in Clarksville. She married BARRY SULLIVAN on August 26, 1917 in Woodson. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1942. She then married ROBERT TATE in Graham in 1958. He preceded her in death in 1975. She had been employed by the telephone company in Austin. Later she worked at the Post Office in Throckmorton and Woodson. She had lived in Throckmorton County since 1917. She lived in Graham from 1958 to 1976. She was a housewife and a member of Woodson First Baptist Church. Survivors include, three daughters, GERRY BEATY and ANNIE MAE OVERCASH, both of Woodson and MARINE WESTON of Paradise; one sister, MAUDE TOWNSEND of Brownwood; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granchild. The family requests that memorials be made to the Throckmorton County Cancer Fund or the Woodson Cemetery Fund. Pallbearers were FREDDIE BELLAH, JOHNNY BRYANT, BILL HURFORD, JR., RUDY MOLINEK, JIM OVERCASH, and REX SULLIVAN.
