Bio

Gerry Beaty, 93, died Monday, September 15, 2014 at a local care center. Graveside service with Rev. Pete Parker officiating will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Woodson Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge. Gerry was born on January 1, 1921 in Woodson to Thomas Berry Sullivan and Ada Mae Adkins Sullivan. She married Woodrow Wilson Beaty in Lubbock and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting, and was a member of the Eastern Star and the Woodson Frist Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Boland of Woodson; sister, Annie Mae Overcash of Woodson; grandchildren, Jeff Kramer, Sam Kramer, Jim Tom Boland and wife, Amber, Misty Lawson and husband, Hank, Melissa Vickers and husband, Johnny, Melanie Anderson, and Rowdy Boyd; 19 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Gloria Hurford; son, Ronnie Boyd; two sisters, and a brother. Memorials may be made to the Gloria Hurford Scholarship Fund at Woodson ISD.
