Bio

William Neal Floyd, 91, of the McHue Community in Batesville died Thursday, January 13, 2005 in Batesville. He was born October 20, 1913 in Floral, Arkansas, the son of J. B. Floyd and Gertrude Massey Floyd. He was a farmer, a member of the Independence County Election Commission, a Mason, and a member of the McHue Methodist Church. He is survived by his son, John Freddie Floyd of Benton; a brother Ray Dean Floyd of Jamestown; a sister, Sharon Candler of Allen's Chapel; three grandchildren, Dr. Dennis Floyd and his wife, Rebecca; Sue Carper, and her husband, Bobby; Jalane Fitzhugh and her husband Gary. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ida Floyd; two brothers, Hershel Floyd and Norman Floyd; four sisters, Ruth Pearson, Belah Platt, Mary Hunter, and Hazel Bishop; and a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Floyd. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2005 at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Randy Burge and Bro. W. T. Rider officiating. Pallbearers are Arnold Candler, Casey Fitzhugh, Cody Fitzhugh, Coy Fitzhugh, David Floyd, Camron Carper and Winfred Reed. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2005. Interment will be in Kyler Cemetery at Southside under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. (870) 793-4161
