Walton Walter Weikle, 75, of Mabscott, WV, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 1988 at 2:30 PM at a Blacksburg, VA care center following a long illness. Born Oct. 17, 1913, at Sarton, WV, he was the son of the late Henry W. and Annie Wickline Weikle Mr. Weikle was a retired coal miner, member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church at Sarton, and the UMWA Local No. 7086 District 29. Survivors include his wife, Arzula Ward Weikle; three sons, James Henry Weikle of Manassas, VA, Darrell Walton Weikle of Shawsville, VA, and Jerry Matthew Weikle of Dublin, VA; two daughters, Darless Jean Spiegel of University Park, MD and Jessica Carol Van Benthuysen of Vernon Hills, IL; four brothers, Howard H. Weikle of Union, Lancy Weikle of Mansfield, OH and Ernest L. and Billy Joe Weikle, both of Belleville, OH; five sisters, Sadie Dowdy, Dollie Weikle and Zola Kirby, all of Union, Bessie Kirby of Shippensburg, PA, and Hettie Weikle of Belleville, OH; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 1 PM at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with the Rev. Daniel Legg officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.
