The Republic Columbus, Indiana Friday, March 29, 2019 Ronald H. Placek, 65, of Sycamore Drive, died at 3:05 p.m.March 27, 2019, at his home. Ronald was born August 12, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana, the son of Raymond and Carrie Stinett Placek. He married Cheryl Collyer October 20, 1990. He retired from Arvin’s, was a drummer and vocalist, and was very passionate about his music. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Calling will be 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Placek; daughter, Andrea (Matt) Rhoades; grandchildren, Gideon, Baasha, Joshua and Clayton; daughter, Michelle (Brad) Lovins; grandchildren, Danielle, Gabrielle and Savannah; great-grandson, Leland Jones (son of Bryce and Danielle); and his loyal companion, Sasha. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a twin brother, Don Placek.
