Bio

From "Lockwood Luminary", Lockwood, Missouri dated Thursday, June 4, 1942, Page 5: Brought Here For Burial Mrs. Lydia Denton was born May 31, 1872, and passed away at her home at Carthage, May 26, 1942. Funeral services were held at Carthage Thursday morning, May 28, Rev. Lawrence Fitzgerald delivering the sermon. The remains were then brought to Lockwood and were buried in the Collins cemetery, north of Lockwood, where members of her family have been lain to rest for years. Ladies of the American Legion Auxiliary of Carthage accompanied the body to Lockwood and had a part in the commitment service. Rev. Fitzgerald assisted with the burial services. Mrs. Denton was Lydia Tindill before her first marriage and she was a sister of Charley and Jim Tindill, of near Lockwood. Her son Claude Burnett was one of the Dade county young men who gave his life in the World War and his body was returned here and buried in the Collins cemetery. She is survived by a daughter Ruth Burnett, and a son Dennis Burnett, who made their home with their mother in Carthage; by her two brothers, other relatives and friends, many of whom live in Lockwood and community.
