Bio

Milady Rose (Holubec) Skrivanek passed away on June 5th, 2007 after a brief illness. Milady was born September 8, 1918, in Caldwell, Texas, the daughter of John and Fannie Holubec. She graduated from Caldwell High School, and then attended the Durham Business College, attended U.T. of Austin, and also Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She worked in insurance business for 18 years. Milady married Jesse E. Skrivanek January 7, 1947. After her husband was ordained into the ministry she worked with her husband. She was very active in her church work and held several offices on the Executive Committee of the Christian Sisters' Union serving as President and Vice-President. She was active in her church and served on the Board of Elders in various capacities for several years. Milady was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse E. Skrivanek in October 1994, son, David Skrivanek, her parents, John and Frances Holubec, brother, Ernest Holubec, sisters, Vlasta LaFaitte, Ella Holubec and Dorothy Holubec. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Howze of Killeen; grandsons, Evan Howze and Logan Howze of Killeen; sisters, Gardina Holubec, of Austin, and Mrs. Ted (Nel) Marek and brother-in-law, Ted Marek of San Marcos, Texas; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Her love will be greatly missed, but her love and presence will always be with us. Entombment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Mausoleum, Pflugerville.
