Clarence "Sam" Bass, 77, a retired quality assurance engineer, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, in Decatur. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday in Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Woodson Cemetery. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Jefferson and Daisy (Wolfe) Bass, 2 brothers Hollis Bass and Monroe Henderson, 2 sisters Claudine Wells and Loraine Proctor. Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Fran; 3 daughters, 8 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Cleo.
