Bio

Mark Allen Walger, 62, of Wallis passed away March 3, 2019 of natural causes. Mark was born April 24, 1956 in Wharton, Texas to Allen Bud Walger and Jeanette Marie Walger and grew up in Wallis. He graduated from Wallis High School in 1974. He married Rita Joyce Backhus on June 3, 1978. Mark worked as a bus driver and truck driver until an accident in 2001 that prevented him from continuing his work. Mark loved most to spend time with his family, grandchildren and dogs. When Mark was not busy with family, he spent his time at church, barbequing, volunteering in the community, socializing and playing BINGO. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Marie Walger, and father, Allen Bud Walger. He is survived by his wife, Rita Joyce Backhus Walger; sons, James Allen Walger and wife, Janna, and Wayne Allen Walger; and daughter, Valerie Ann Bryant and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Kyle Anthony Wick, Amanda Nicole Walger, Noah Alexander Bryant, Carson Allen Bryant, and Isaac Wayne Bryant. Visitation will be Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, followed by rosary at 10:30 a.m. The funeral mass will be Saturday, March 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, with Fr. Thuy Quang Nguyen officiating. Interment will follow at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Polosek, Victor Legler, Dennis Pustejovsky, James Marek, Ricky Zapalac, and Dennis Kulhanek.
