Karl Wilson Bobo, age 93, of Lahmansville, WV, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. He was born on April 2, 1925, in Moorefield, WV, the son of the late Roy and Blanche (Kessel) Bobo. Karl married his wife of 69 years, Myrtle (Harper) Bobo, who preceded him in death on August 6, 2015. Mr. Bobo was a Veteran of WWII, serving with the US Navy in the Pacific, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #6454, and was an active member of the American Legion Post #78, where he held various offices, including Commander. He was the owner of B&G Ford, and was a lifetime farmer, which was a passion that he shared with his wife. Karl was an active member of the Lahmansville United Methodist Church and also attended Mt. Carmel Church. He received his honorary diploma from Moorefield High School in 2016. He will be greatly missed by his family and the people of the community. Mr. Bobo is survived by: 2 daughters, Linda Berg (Gene) of Maysville, WV, Barb DiBenedetto (Denny) of Petersburg; a brother, John Paul Bobo (Betty) of Quilcene, WA; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Borror (Paul), Jeremy DiBenedetto (Missy), and Dan DiBenedetto (Megan); 4 great-grandchildren, Karlie and Klaire DiBenedetto, Connor and Carson Borror; 5 step grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by: a sister, LaVaughn Bobo; and a brother, Overton Bobo. Mr. Bobo's family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, 5-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Arthur, WV, with Rev. Joseph Gerstell and Rev. Roger Harrison officiating. Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Grant County VFW #6454 and the US Navy. Memorials may be made to Grant County Rehabilitation and Care Center, Safe Harbor Program or St. Judes Children's Hospital.
