1.) Death Notice: Kelly, Elba Earl, 84, Decatur, died at Westview Acres Oct. 12 [1982]. Service was conducted Oct. 16 from Stewart-Duerr Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Short officiating. Burial was in Decatur Cemetery. Leon Journal-Reporter Leon, Decatur County, Iowa 2.) Obituary Elba Earl Kelly, son of Albert Guy Kelly and Della Mae Green Kelly, was born Nov. 1, 1897 in rural Decatur County, Iowa and died Oct. 12, 1982 at Westview Acres in Leon, Iowa, age 84 years, 11 months, and 11 days. In 1929 he was united in marriage to Helen Lula Palmer and to this union three children were born: Darlene Marie, Donald Robert, and Ronald Dean. He lived in and around Decatur his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, and one son, Dean. Surviving are two children, Darlene McFadden and husband Charles of Des Moines, and Donald of Decatur; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Raymond Everett (Ray), Mabton, WA; Richard Commandore (Dick), Marshalltown IA; Neil, Lamoni, IA; Guy Junior (Jay), Des Moines; other relatives and friends.
