Bio

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Barbara Almeda Ball Sellers, 85, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister and aunt. She died peacefully, February 7, 2019, among loved ones, at the James L. West Alzheimer Center in Fort Worth. She will be interred at the Center Point Cemetery in Strong, Arkansas, where her mother, father and many family members have been lain to rest. Medie was born on September 1, 1932, outside a small sawmill town of Urbana in Union County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Armon Linford and Grace Harrison Ball. She grew up in the Arkansas woods but moved to Texas with her family where she graduated from Borger High School in 1950. In her youth, she lettered in basketball, sang in the school choir, and loved jitterbug. She worked as a housewife, newspaper reporter, and owner of the General Store in White Deer, Texas. She loved embroidery and played piano. Medie knew all the words to all the songs and she loved to sing. Before her death, she wanted everyone to know that she loved her family. Her last words were, “If you can find something to laugh about even in the worst situation, you’ll be okay.” Survivors: Medie leaves to cherish her memory her five children, Barbara, Fran, Melissa, Melvin Jr, and George; grandchildren, Chris, Mike, Joe Ely, Mary Beth, and Derrek; great grandchildren, Beck, Haley, Quin, Maxwell, Madeline, Elliot, and Von; sons-in-law Chadd, Dennis, and Tom; daughter-in-law, Patty; and many other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Eldean Sellers, husband for 66 years; her brother, Armon Linford Ball Jr; sisters, Mary Dutton and Grace Windwehen; and her granddaughter Danielle Sellers. She will be dearly missed. Arrnagement entrusted to Forest Ridge Memorial Park Chapel.
