Mrs. Martha M Christen Martha M. Christen February 21, 1917 – February 16, 2019 Martha (Kapustka) Christen, 101, passed away February 16, 2019 in Lincoln, just days prior to her 102nd Birthday. Born near Ord, Nebraska on February 21, 1917. Martha married Fred Christen in 1941, and they raised 3 children. For several years they travelled across Nebraska living in a trailer as Fred worked at many construction jobs. They moved to Lincoln in the early 1950’s and Fred passed in 1979. Martha worked for several years at the Madonna Rehabilitation center. She was a member of Cathedral of the Risen Christ and was greatly loved and treasured as one of the last of our family’s elder generation. She will be missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by husband, Fred Christen; 5 brothers and 2 sisters; and son, Clarence Christen. Martha is survived by a sister, Deloris (John) Epperson of Lake Mary, Florida; daughters, Connie (Bob) Leavitt of Estes Park, Colorado and Marjorie (Ron) Haack of Cookville, Texas; 9 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 pm and Funeral Service Friday, February 22, 2019 at 12:30 pm with all services at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to Hospice Community Care of Nebraska (www.hospicecarenebraska.com) or Cathedral of the Risen Christ Masses (www.cathedraloftherisenchrist.org).
