Athens – Funeral services for Wallace Lynn Sanders, 68, of Athens will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with interment following at Rome Cemetery. Mr. Sanders passed away January 22, 2018 in Grapevine, Texas. Wallace Lynn Sanders was born December 8, 1949 in Athens, Texas the son of William Jackson Sanders and Willie Tom Wallace Sanders. He retired from Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative after 36 years as an Office Manager. He was a member of the Athens Masonic Lodge #165 and loved to read. Lynn loved camping and spent many years attending NASCAR races and traveling with his wife and group of camping buddies. He loved football, especially his Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M Aggies. He will be missed by all he knew and loved. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Terry Michael Sanders. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandy Sanders of Athens; one son Trace Sanders and wife Jennifer of McKinney; two sisters, Sharon Newell of Athens, Lou Albright and husband Phil of Athens and two nephews, Colby Albright and David Sanders. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 26, 2018 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family.
