ATHENS - Services for Willie Tom Sanders, 81, Athens, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home, Athens, with Bob Lyliston officiating. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery near Athens. Mrs. Sanders died Sept. 20, 2006, at her residence. She was born Jan. 6, 1925, in Tahoka to the late Tom and Sally Ballow Wallace. She moved to Tri-Cities community near Athens as a child and attended Turkey Creek school and later Cross Roads school. She worked for Wallace Floor Covering, Vickery Hardware and Jap Lucas Hardware and was a homemaker and a longtime member of Rome Chapel. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. "Bill" Sanders; brothers, Bryan Wallace, Alton Wallace and Bartley Wallace; and sister, Agnew Werneking. Survivors include sons, Lynn Sanders, Athens, and Mike Sanders, Lake Dallas; daughters, Sharon Newell and Lou Albright, both of Athens; and three grandchildren.
