Virginia (Judy or Judalu) Lee Speer was born September 12, 1931 in Quinton, Oklahoma to Granville and Tretty (Thompson) Bullard. She passed away on February 3, 2019 in Stigler, Oklahoma at the age of 87. She is survived by: One Son: Glenn Speer, and wife, Debbie, of Tamaha, OK One Daughter: Paula Bibee, and husband, Mike, of Hoyt, OK Four Grandchildren: Rick Reid of Tamaha, OK Adam Speer of Tamaha, OK Amy Langston, and husband, Barry, of Bentonville, AR Ryan Bibee, and wife, Melissa, of Hoyt, OK Four Great-Grandchildren: Brynn Bibee Trevor Martinez Jace Bibee Gavin Langston One Sister: Coweta Brown, and husband, Kenneth, of Stigler, OK Special “Weekend” Son: Barry Dennis, and wife, Donna, of Bismark, AR Many Nieces and Nephews She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Speer; her mother and father, Granville and Tretty Bullard; two brothers, Hershel “Herk” Bullard and James “Mutt” Bullard; two sisters, Mary Cox, and husband Les and Naomi Lowrimore, and husband, Leo, of California; and one granddaughter, Wendy Speer. She graduated from Kinta High School and spent time with her sister, Mary, in California. She returned to Oklahoma and met Chester. They were married on October 27, 1951. Judy worked as a cashier for Shelton’s Supermarket in the 50’s and early 60’s, and as a cashier for Wallace Grocery. She worked part-time jobs and stayed home to care for her husband and children. In 2000 she began working for Mallory Funeral Home. She was a babysitter for her grandchildren and the Grandkids named her Judalu, which she was called by them, their friends, great grandkids and eventually, other family members. She loved to bake. She would bake pies, cakes, and cookies for others that were sick or had lost a family member. There were always desserts at home after school and at dinner. She baked for church dinners and women’s groups. She was also an avid sports fan. She loved to watch OSU and OU football, basketball and softball and major league baseball and The Thunder. Sometimes, so much, that dad would go to another room to watch something other than sports. She loved to dance. She and dad went to dances frequently and you can ask anyone that watched them, “They were great dancers!” Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Mallory Chapel in Stigler, Oklahoma with Rev. Mickey Moery officiating. Interment will follow at Stigler City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler. Viewing will be held at Mallory Chapel from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 4, 2019, Tuesday, February 5, 2019, and Wednesday, February 6, 2019; with Family Visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
