Bernard J. "Bernie" Urbanek, 76, died April 13, 2005 at his residence in Onalaska, Texas. Celebration of Life Services were at 2 PM, Sunday, April 17th at Providence Funeral Chapel with Msgr. Lonnie Urban officiating. Burial followed at Taylor City Cemetery. Bernie was born on December 19, 1928 in Rowena, Texas to Frank F. and Teresa (Kaspar) Urbanek. In 1936, he moved with his father to Taylor. He graduated from Coupland High School. He later married Lois Gregory and they had two children, Robert and Kathryn Ruth. Bernie made his home in Houston and was a masonry contractor. B. J. retired ten years ago making his home in Onalaska, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Lois in 1954; his son Robert in 1992; two sisters, Ruth Humphries, Elsie Kloesel; two brothers, Frank Urbanek , Jr. and Leo F. Urbanek. Surviving Bernie are his daughter Kathryn Ruth; his brother, Alex J. Urbanek and his wife, Alma of Taylor; a sister, Bertha Wheeless of Worland, WY; and numerous other family members and friends. She was born Sept. 17, 1928 in College port, TX and died April 8, 1955 in Houston, TX. They had two children, Robert Bernard Urbanek, buried in Taylor, TX. and Kathryn Ruth Urbanek born Dec. 12, 1951 in Houston, TX.
