Twilla Verlene Bowley, 98, of Taylor, Nebraska died February 1, 2019 at the Valley View Senior Living Village in Ord, Nebraska. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Taylor Cemetery in Taylor, Nebraska. Pastor Dennis Davenport will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 –7 p.m. Tuesday at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Twilla was born April 30, 1920 in Custer County, Nebraska to Bert and Beulah (Amos) Marsh. Twilla attended school at Sargent, Nebraska until the 10th grade at that time she went to work for her Grandparents in Sargent. Twilla married Hubert Bowley on May 31, 1941. After Hubert was discharged from the Navy the couple settled in Taylor, Nebraska where she worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service until her retirement in June of 1972. In her retirement she enjoyed camping and fishing trips, cooking for family events, bowling, trips to the Casino to try her luck and anything Husker, she loved her Huskers. Twilla is survived by her son, Don Bowley of Taylor, Nebraska. A grandson, Brian and Wanda Bowley of Burwell, Nebraska. Two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Sara Bowley of Grand Island, Nebraska and Emilee Bowley of Omaha, Nebraska and two great great-grandchildren, Addalyn and Elaina Bowley of Grand Island, Nebraska. Twilla is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Dorlea Bowley, a brother, Bob Marsh and a sister, Wanita Russell.
