Bio

OBITUARY Anton Sirinek Anton O Sirinek was born in Czeckoslovakia on Jan 15th, 1869. He came with his parents to the United States in 1879, settling on a farm at Schuyler, Nebraska, and later farming his own farm in Nebraska. On September 12, 1892, he was married to Josephine Jindra. To this union were born eight children. In 1898 he moved with his family to Wisconsin, settling on a farm in Barron County in the Town of Dovre where he farmed for many years. His wife preceded him in death in 1946, and since that time he has made his home with his son Joseph. Mr Sirinek was one of the charter members of the Western Bohemian Fraternal Association. He also served as secretary and treasurer of the local lodge for several years. He passed away very suddenly at the home of his son Joseph, on Monday, Nov 27, 1961, at the age of 92 years, 10 months and 12 days. He is survived by three sons, Otto and Joseph of Chetek, and Emil of Clarendon Hills, Illinois; five daughters, (Anna) Mrs Frank Shiroky of St Louis, Mo, (Rose) Mrs Nelson of St Paul, Minn, (Antoinette) Mrs Oscar Johnson of Emmett, Idaho, (Elsie) Mrs Heller of Chicago, Ill, and (Josephine) Mrs Richard Ringer of Cicero, Ill; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Sirinek of San Diego, California, and (Emily) Mrs Rudolph Nechvatal of Chetek, Wis; and a host of friends. Services were held on Friday, December 1, at the Burnham Funeral Chapel at 2 o'clock in the afternoon with the Rev Lucas Cooke officiating. Interment was in Twin Lakes Cemetery. Card of Thanks We wish to express our sincere thanks for all the kindness and sympathy shown by neighbors, relatives and friends at the time of our recent bereavement. A special word of appreciation to Rev Cooke, William Mares, WL Burnham, the vocalist, the organist and the pallbearers; neighbors, relatives and friends who furnished food and served, and for the floral offerings, memorials and prayers.
