Bio

Jane Winston Popplewell Naiser, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22nd. Born in Liberty, KY on July 26, 1930, Jane was a daughter of the late Oliver and Anne Hankla Popplewell. She was also preceded in death by her husband George A. Naiser, her sisters Mollie (Sweeney) and Anita (Henritz), and her brother Joel. Jane's infectious laughter, sense of humor, competitive spirit and love of life touched all who knew her. She was a member and former president of the Louisville Bridge Association and earned the prestigious distinction of American Contract Bridge League Diamond Life Master. Jane's proudest achievement was her role as a Founding Board Member of Dreams with Wings, founded in 2000, a vibrant program that has grown to serve hundreds of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With natural ease and their love of people, Jane and George developed a passion for international travel, especially in their later years. Jane is survived by her two daughters, her "third daughter," her sister, her grandson, and 21 beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, January 27th at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Jane's funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel Monday, January 28th at noon, followed by burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
