"Mother" Last rites for Mrs. Rubye Dean, 78, were held in First Christian Church at Santa Anna at 2:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, and burial was held in Santa Anna Cemetery with Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna in charge of arrangements. Officiating for the service were the Rev. Louis Shambeck, pastor of Santa Anna First United Methodist Church and the Rev. Weldon Haynes, a grandson, pastor if Briarwood Methodist Church of Plano. Mrs. Dean, who was born near Santa Anna August 18, 1895, to Kit and Ada Lowe Casey, died at Ranger Park Nursing Home at Santa Anna at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 1974. She was married at Santa Anna September 6, 1916, to Albert Dean, who died October 10, 1969. A graduate of Santa Anna High School, a homemaker and member of the Christian Church, she lived in Coleman County all of her life, except for 10 years at Bangs, 1958-68. Among her survivors are two daughters, Mrs. J. R. (Helen) Haynes of Santa Anna and Mrs. Harley (Ruth) Maynor of Brownwood; two sons, Rodney Dean of Santa Anna and Ray Dean of Dallas; four sisters, Mrs. Bernice Herring of Santa Anna, Miss Thelma Casey of Coleman, Mrs. Lerlee Sheffield of Rising Star, and Mrs. Quida Peters of Kingsville; tweo brothers, Arthur Casey of Santa Anna and Wade Casey of Mineral Wells; 16 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roy, Jesse, and Lyndon Haynes, Roddy, Rocky, Kit, Grady and Casey Dean.
