Bio

Rodney Dean, age 74 of Santa Anna, died Wednesday, June 8,1994 in the Ranger Park Inn Nursing Home in Santa Anna. Services for Mr. Dean were held Saturday, June 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Santa Anna, with Rev. John Stanislaw officiating, and assisted by Rev. Waide Messer internment followed in the Santa Anna Cemetery, under the direction of (Henderson Funeral Home. Mr. Dean was born to the late Albert Henry and Rubye Elizabeth Casey Dean in Coleman County on December 20, 1919. He was a lifetime resident of Coleman County, where he attended the Watts Creek and Cross Roads Schools and was a 1937 graduate of Santa Anna High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II and an oilfield worker and stock farmer . Survivors include two daughters, Beth Steele of Granbury, Texas, and Melinda Homer of Tom Bean, Texas; two sons, Roddy Dean of Santa Anna and Rocky Dean of Crowley, Texas; sister, Mrs. J. R. (Helen) Haynes Coleman; a brother, Ray Dean of Bangs; eleven grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Casey Dean, Byrl Fellers, Gregg Hardin, Lyndon Haynes, Bob Rutherford, and Frank Valdez.
