The Telephone Register, McMinnville, Oregon, Thursday, May 15, 1941 ADAM GUTBROD DIES IN SHERIDAN HOME SHERIDAN, May 15 – Adam Gutbrod was born in Wittenberg, Germany, April 15, 1870, and died at his home in Sheridan, Tuesday, May 6, 1941, at the age of 71 years. He came to America with his parents when he was 11 years of age, and they made their home in Iowa for 11 years. In 1892 Mr. Gutbrod came to Sheridan, and bought a farm south of town, where he and his family lived until his retirement 16 years ago. He was an active member of the American Lutheran church. He is survived by his widow, Lena, two step-children, Mrs. Reinhold Kruger and Jacob Schatz of Portland, and a son, John Gutbrod of Waldport. There are also several grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church, Thursday, May 8, at 2 p.m. with Rev. P.W. Erickson, pastor of the American Lutheran church in Salem, officiating.
