Bio

FORT WORTH--Ann Frances Zurovetz, 94, passed away at her home in Fort Worth, Friday, Dec. 21, 2018. SERVICE: Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. with service to immediately follow. Ann will be buried in the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery next to her husband, a World War II veteran. Ann Frances Zurovetz was born July 26, 1924, in Ennis, Texas, to Josef and Vojteska Jurcik Janicek. Ann was a loving grandmother, mother, wife and friend where she exemplified loyalty, resilience, and compassion for those she loved most. Ann was the wife of Daniel Zurovetz, a longtime Fort Worth Fire Department firefighter and photographer. She was dedicated to serving her country and community by being consistently involved in various political campaigns and election periods. She was exceptionally proud of her son, Timothy Zurovetz, who served as a Forest Hill police officer, where he was tragically injured in the line of duty and permanently disabled. Ann chose to be a selfless caregiver by taking care of him into his later years until he passed in 2010. Ann will also be remembered for her many passions and talents. She was a seamstress who brought her pieces to life. She had an impeccable green thumb, which reflected in the beautiful landscaping at her home. She had an evident talent for painting and was known for her artwork of landscapes and birds. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Zurovetz; son, Timothy Zurovetz; parents, Josef and Vojteska Jurcik Janicek; brothers, Joe and George Janicek. SURVIVORS: Granddaughter, Britney Zurovetz; sister, Bertha Podhrasky; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her caregiver and friend, Patricia Acker, for her many years of care for the Zurovetz family, Donna Smith, Triumph Baptist, and VITAs Hospice.
