Bio
J. V. was born in Ennis, Texas on January 20, 1925 to Alonzo and Lottie (Wylie) Lewis. He grew up in Ellis County and attended Bardwell Schools. On September 14, 1946 he married Peggy McCluney. They made their home in Ennis, then to Houston for thirty-five years and then to Franklin in 2005. He served in the United States Army during the European Theater for three campaigns. He worked for Vaught Company for fifteen years and as a rancher for thirty years with Sienna Plantation. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Baden, Texas. He enjoyed gardening and horses. He loved working on the tractor on the ranch. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Peggy Lewis, eight brothers and one sister. Visitation will be on Monday, December 17, 2018 beginning at 1 p.m. until service time. Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. in Myrtle Cemetery with Rev. Freddy Burden officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. J.E. Keever Mortuary (Ennis Chapel) 408 North Dallas Ennis, Texas 75119
