Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska, Thursday, October 6, 1921, Page 1, Column 5 JOSEPH PARKOS DIES AT COMSTOCK HOME Joseph Parkos, well known Valley county farmer for a quarter of century, died suddenly last Sunday evening at his home in Comstock. Mr. Parkos was born in Chicago, January 11, 1877 and came to Valley count in 1895, settling on a farm in Geranium township and this county has been his home until he moved to Comstock to go into the implement business a few years ago. For a couple of years the family lived in Ord, moving here from the farm and later going back to the old place where they lived for a time before going to Comstock. Mr. Parkos was taken ill Sunday morning and passed away in the evening about 5 o'clock, a bursted blood vessel in the head probably being the cause of death. Mr. Parkos was married October 13, 1902 to Anna Novotney and four children were born to them, three of whom, Lillian, Leonard and Helen with the mother, survive. Alice died some years ago at the age of 12. James Parkos, father of the deceased lives in Ord. The funeral was held Tuesday at the Bohemian church in Geranium with Rev. Chudacek of Sargent officiating and interment was in the Geranium cemetery.
