RUSSELLVILLE, AL – Edward Johnson, 77, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield, Alabama. He was born April 16, 1941, in Franklin County, Alabama, to Edd and Ruby Shewbart Johnson. He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Operating Engineers Local 320. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and Belgreen Masonic Lodge #428. Services will be Thursday, November 1, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Alton Hester officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Red Bay, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of fifty-six years – Linda Johnson, Russellville, AL; two children – Monica Lynn Johnson and Jim Edward Johnson (Jessica); one special grandchild – Sidney Johnson; two little friends – Milly and Lilly; one brother – Pete Johnson (Tommie Lou); one sister – Gennie Bolton (H.B.) and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
