Blaine Cordner 1921 - 2018 VETERAN Early Life: Blaine was born September 9, 1921, in Orem, Utah, a son of Jesse W. and Sarah Jane Ferguson Cordner. He was raised on the family fruit farm and learned how to work hard very early in life. He graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Brigham Young University. Life's Work | Service | Interests: When World War II broke out, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served 3½ years in Alaska. Following the war, he resumed studies at BYU; he also met and married Virginia Richards. They had two children, Richard and Susan. They were later divorced. In 1962, he married Carole Isaacson, the love of his life. Together they raised Karen, Susan, Jim and Steve. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Blaine held many callings, including bishopric and stake high council member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a great sports fan. Blaine Cordner, formerly of Provo, Utah, died October 31, 2018, at his home in Taylorsville, Utah. He was 97.
