Denton Lee "Dutch" Bateman was the 2nd son and the 2nd child of James Jefferson "Bud" Bateman, Jr. and Lula Louise Gilliam Bateman. He married Pearl Arline Long Bateman, daughter of Edward Albert Long and Sarah Elizabeth Steed Long, on Aug 28, 1918 in Edgewood, TX, Van Zandt Co. They had 1 son and 1 daughter.
