Lula Louise Gilliam Bateman was the daughter of George Washington Gilliam and Louise Gipson Gilliam. She married James Jefferson "Bud" Bateman, Jr., the 2nd son and the 2nd child of James Jefferson Bateman, Sr. and Sarah Ann Barber Bateman, on Jan 31, 1931. They had 2 sons and 2 daughters.
