Martin Hubert "Marty" Nason, 37, Hestand, died Aug. 9, 2004, at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He was an employee of Belden Corp. and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His hobbies were dirt bike riding, hunting and music and was a member of the Willie Snatch Band. Born in Oklahoma City, Okla. on Sept. 16, 1966, he was a son of Don Nason, of Louisiana, and Nellie Mae (Allen) Nason, Tompkinsville, and the husband of Heather (Baskett) Nason, who also survives. They were married March 22, 1991 at the Germany Church of Christ in Tompkinsville, by Bro. Kerry Duke. Other than his wife and parents, survivors include a son, Kobe Nason, Hestand; a daughter, Ashley Nason, Glasgow; four brothers, Randy Nason, Tompkinsville, and Richard, Curtis and Dennis Nason, all of Edmonton; a sister, Sherry Jones, Tompkinsville; and several nieces and nephews. Burial was at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Serving as pallbearers were Jeff Blakley; Jerry Bowman; T.J. Hestand; Justin, Rick and Terry Jones; Brian Pickerell; and Derrick Slaughter. Honorary pallbearers were: Chase, Chelsea and Tylyn Blakley; Cody and John Cullen Slaughter; J.J. and Tervon Jones; and Katie, Christopher and Conner Shook.
