Services for Alvin D. Frauendorfer, 85, Osmond, formerly of Madison, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Osmond. The Rev. Dave Liewer will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Leonard’s Catholic Cemetery in Madison. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 35 in Madison and the U.S. Army Honors Guard. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Osmond with a 7 p.m. rosary. He died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at the Plainview Manor. Alvin D. Frauendorfer, son of Albert and Emma (Vavra) Frauendorfer, was born April 4, 1933, in Humphrey. He attended St. Francis School in Humphrey to the eighth grade. He served in the U.S. Army from April 20, 1953, to March 19, 1955. Alvin served in Korea and Hawaii. On April 25, 1955, he married Marcella Karella at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk. After marriage, Alvin and Marcella moved near Humphrey and farmed. They later moved to Madison, and Alvin worked at Lindsey Manufacturing. He later worked as a janitor at St. Leonard’s Church in Madison until they moved to Osmond in 2014. Alvin enjoyed woodworking and watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Kansas City Royals. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Osmond. Survivors include his spouse, Marcella Frauendorfer of Plainview; his children, Bob Frauendorfer of Columbus, Jane (Bob) Stech of Punta Gorda, Fla., Arthur (Christine) Frauendorfer of Plymouth, Ind., Bette (Rick) Gardner of Osmond and Keith (Julie) Frauendorfer of Royse, Texas; a brother, Tom (Sandy) Frauendorfer of Humphrey; a sister-in-law, Nancy Frauendorfer of Humphrey; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Emma; a son, David; a brother, Don; and four grandchildren. Music for the service will be provided by Clint Dennis and St. Mary’s Choir. Music selections include “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Be Not Afraid,” “I Am The Bread Of Like,” “Amazing Grace” and “Song Of Farewell.” Casket bearers will be Jerimie Frauendorfer, Jason Frauendorfer, Clifford Stech, Victor Stech, Lucas Stech, Keigh Gardner, Kendall Frauendorfer, Nathan Frauendorfer, Danny Frauendorfer, D.J. Frauendorfer, Matt Frauendorfer, Justin Frauendorfer, Calvin Gardner and Ethan Stech.
