Bio

Euna Lee Holbrook was born in 1918 to Melvin T and Golda Salyer Holbrook. She graudated from Coeburn High School and attended business courses in Bluefield West Virginia. She was working for the Wise County School Board when she married William Banner "Bill" Pate in 1955 following the death of Bill's first wife, Wilma. Bill and Euna had one daughter, Debora. While Bill ran Crecent Printery, Euna briefly owned and operated Euna's Needle and Fabric Shop in the building next door. Bill, Euna and Debora moved to Arcadia, Florida when Bill retired in 1973. After Bill passed away in 1974, Euna and Debora continued to live in Florida. Euna became acquainted with a couple from New Brunswick, Canada over the years and often rented out room to them during the winter season. Following the death of his wife, Albert WC Robertson proposed to Euna. They were married in November 1995 in Florida. Albert passed away in New Brunswick in September 2001, just days before the 9/11 attack. Euna eventually made it back to Florida where she continued to volunteer in the community and work at her church until her death in 2006. She is buried in the Greear Cemetery by both Bill and his first wife, Wilma.
