Arthur Joseph “Joe” Best, 80, died Aug. 1, 2004, at his home. He was born June 13, 1924, in Tonasket to Lillian (Brady) and Arthur Best Sr. He attended St. Mary’s Mission until the ninth grade and began work with his father on the family farm in Kartar Valley. A community rosary was Aug. 9 at the Omak Longhouse with Mass and burial services Aug. 10 at St. Mary’s Mission. Dinner followed at the Omak Longhouse. Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel, Okanogan, was in charge of arrangements.
