Hula, 85, of Colon, NE, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo, NE. He was born March 9, 1933 in rural Colon, NE to James and Maymie (Chmelka) Hula. Ray served his country in the U.S. Army until he was honorably discharged. Ray was a lifelong farmer that cared for his livestock like family. He was an avid bowler and held the bowling series record at 300 Bowl with a score of 720. Ray enjoyed going to the horse races, sales at the sale barn and he was well known at many coffee circles throughout the county. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and American Legion #232. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Bernie Ludvik, Dave (Cheryl) Ludvik, Dan (Mel) Ludvik, Lynette Frost, Steve Koranda, Karen Holmes, Dwayne (Liz) Koranda, Frank (Deb) Koranda and Cheryl Needham; many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maymie Hula; sisters, Lillian (Rudy) Ludvik and Gladys (Frank) Koranda; great-great-nephew, Miles Ludvik; nephew-in-law, David Holmes; niece-in-law, Diann Koranda.
