Bio

ALPINE - Betha Florence Strong Ingram, passed away Aug. 7, 2000, at the age of 85. Born August 31, 1914 to William Frederick and Florence Thornton Strong, she married O'Dell George Ingram on April 20, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple he died December 26, 1990. Betha was an avid genealogist and published two family histories. She served faithfully in may church callings in the Sunday School, MIA, and Relief Society and served two missions. She was one of the first ever to receive the Golden Gleaner Award and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Betha was a genuine patron of the arts, attending concerts, plays, and other cultural and musical events frequently. She loved music, and she loved to travel. Most of all, Betha loved to serve, and she will be remembered as one who found joy in being kind and in reaching out to others. Her many thoughtful deeds will be lasting memorials to her life of selfless service. Betha is survived by her children, Bryce James "Jim" (Janet) Ingram, Betty Jean (Keith) Little, and Phyllis Merele Ingram, of Alpine; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald D. (Lorraine) Strong and Wendell F. (Mary) Strong, and one sister, June S. Beck (Neldon) Walters, also of Alpine. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother John Thornton Strong, and sisters Mildred, and Jean. Funeral services will be held Mon., August 14, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the Alpine Stake Center at 98 East Canyon Crest Road in Alpine. Friends and family may call Sun. from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary (49 East 100 No., American Fork), and Mon. from 12:30-1:30 at the church prior to the services. Burial will be in the Alpine City Cemetery.
