Nancy Opal (Wilson) Mullins, 102, died on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Lee Health & Rehab Center, Pennington Gap, Va. She was a member of the Blue Springs Primitive Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Jane and Joseph F. "Sheff" Wilson; husband, William Foster Mullins; two brothers, Paul J. Wilson and Oakley Quentin Wilson; and two sisters, Norma Francis Sergent and Oma Fern Powers. "Mommie Opal" is survived by a daughter, Phyllis and husband Charles Metcalf, Big Stone Gap; two granddaughters, Nancy Lynn and husband Jeff Sager, Laurens, SC, and Tracy Luanna and husband Rick Slagle, Grovetown, Ga.; four great grandchildren, Jonathan Sager, Laurens, SC, Evan and wife, Leigh Slagle, Will and wife Falynn Slagle, Whitney Skye and husband Jordan Coalley, all of Grovetown, Ga; and two great-great granddaughters, Murphie Kate Slagle and Whitley Raynn Slagle. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Lee Health and Rehab for their compassionate care and love for Nancy and appreciation to Caris Hospice Healthcare. Visitation is from 5 -7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 at the First Baptist Church (Wood Ave. and E. 1st St.) in Big Stone Gap. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday with Dr. Garrett Sheldon and family members participating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. Holding Funeral Home is serving Mrs. Mullins' family.
