Bio

Oliver Riley Unger, 80, of Waco, passed away on May 3, 2007. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2007, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lynn Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Oliver was born in Palestine, Texas, to the late Oliver Bernard Unger and Irene Smith Unger. He entered the military after high school and proudly served his country during World War II and the Korean War. He met and married Rose Ella Fawvor in September of 1944. After 35 years of marriage, Rose Ella passed away. He later met and married Sonny Kirkland in December of 1984. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Ella; two sisters; a brother; and a son, William A. Unger. Survivors include his wife, Sonny Unger; daughter, Anna Brown and husband, Donald; sons, James Unger and wife, Brenda and David Unger and wife, Nancy; daughter, Rose Partain and husband, Jeff; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Unger and wife, Lou Ann and Doug Unger and wife, Kay; and sister-in-law, Ida Unger.
