Jan. 2, 1929 - Mar. 15, 2015 Vearly "Sonny" Kirkland, 86, formerly of Waco, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015, in Austin. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 19, at Waco Memorial Park. Cliff Boyd will officiate. She was born January 2, 1929, in Gilmer, Texas, to Marvin and Jewel Raines Robinson. Her family moved to Waco that same year. Later, she married her husband, W.C. Kirkland, and they raised their four children here. She was a loving wife and mother and a dedicated member of North Waco Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four sisters. She is survived by her twin sister, Fay "Sam" Phillips; sons, Fred Kirkland and wife, Coral, and William Kirkland; daughters, Linda Nichols and Vickie Kirkland; grandchildren, Bradley Kirkland, Derek Kirkland, Tara Kirkland, Jonathan Kirkland and wife, Joely, Garrett Kirkland, Leah Schifferns and husband, Chylo, Joseph Barnett, Tammy Daigle and husband, Russell, Amy Anderson and husband, Greg; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.Sign the Guest Book at
