Bio

Ruth L. Nors was born on December 22, 1944 in Waco, Texas, the second of four children to Ernest and Agnes McGuire Lehman. Her name at birth was Norma Ruth Lehman. She had already started First Grade in Lott, Texas when she and her family moved to Hillsboro in 1950. After moving to Hillsboro, she attended Franklin Elementary School, Hillsboro Jr. High and Hillsboro High School graduating in 1962. She also attended Hill Jr. College graduating in 1964 with an Associate in Arts Degree. She worked afternoons while attending Hill College at Jobe Jewelers and after graduation went to work in Ft. Worth, Texas at Haltom Jewelers. Ruth was raised in the Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro but during the fall of 1964 was converted to the Catholic faith at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ft. Worth, Texas. She married Marvin Richard Nors in 1965 and lived in Abbott, Texas. They had one daughter born in 1970 and were divorced in 1971. Her name was legally changed in the divorce to Ruth Lehman Nors. She and her daughter, Cristi, relocated to Ft. Worth. While living in Ft. Worth Ruth started her insurance career as an adjuster trainee with Employers Casualty Ins. Co. and in 1974 received a Texas Property and Casualty Adjusters License. She and her daughter moved to Bedford, Texas in 1978. Ruth attended classes at UT Arlington in 1978 and in 1981 attended Tarrant County Jr. College in Hurst, Texas and received her Texas Workers Compensation Adjuster License. She specialized in workers Com. Claims until her retirement (due to health reasons) in 1992. She held an All Lines Adjuster License and a State of Texas Notary Public license. After Ruth’s daughter married in 1995, she sold the home in Bedford and moved back to Hillsboro to take care of her aging mother. While in Hillsboro, Ruth worked part-time at the Wal-Mart in the Jewelry Dept., Hillsboro Sand and Gravel and at a publishing co. in Hurst, Texas. Since 2003 her primary work was that of caregiver for her mother, thru Nurses Unlimited in Waco, Texas. In 2015 Ruth moved to a Senior Community in Keller, Texas to be closer to her daughter. Ruth was always closer to her brother growing up because they were the two middle kids and although they fought like cats and dogs, she loved him and will miss him dearly. She always enjoyed their laughs together and jokes between them of who was the smaller and best looking. Ruth felt she was not the best mother but loved her daughter with all her heart and just wanted to keep her safe and hopefully from making some of the same mistakes she made. Ruth has always been proud of Cristi and the man she chose to ber her husband. Ruth was preceded in death by her father in 1978, sister, Barbara, in 2010, and mother in 2011. Survivors include her daughter, Cristi Anne Figueroa and husband Rick; granddaughter, Taylor Anne Figueroa all of North Richland Hills, Texas; brother, Carl E. Lehman and wife Patricia of Ft.
