She actually died on Sunday, January 28, 1979. Also updated with obituary transcription and parent relationship links. ----------------------- Married Raymond Milton Coop on December 12, 1923 in Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa. Children: Roger, Jo, Colle June, Rosaline, Sharon, Bruce Eugene, Bernard. ------------------------- Fairfield Ledger Monday January 29, 1979 Death takes Ferne Coop Ferne Coop, 74, Route 2, Fairfield, died Sunday at 3:15 p.m. at her home north of Fairfield. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Coop was born in Washington County, Iowa on July 4, 1904, the daughter of Peter and Carrie Armstrong Godwin. She was a member of the Antioch United Church of Christ. She was married to Raymond M. Coop on Dec. 12, 1923 in Fairfield. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1977. She was preceded in death by one son and two brothers. She is survived by two sons, Bruce and Bernard Coop, both of Fairfield; four daughters, Jo Chambers, Packwood, Sharon Smith, Bloomfield, Colee Hospers, Iowa City and Rose Hendricks (sic), Fairfield. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one brother, Warren Godwin, Fairfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Harold Coop and Mrs. Harry Bekel, both of Brighton.
