Robert Joseph Polasek, 80, of Fayetteville, Texas passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018. Robert was born in La Grange, Texas on August 31, 1937, the son of Gus J. Polasek and Agnes (Dirba) Polasek. He married Barbara (Vasicek) Polasek on October 21, 1962 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Texas. Robert served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked as a drag line operator. He enjoyed woodworking and going fishing with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 56 years; one son, Ronald Polasek and wife, Pam, of Fayetteville, TX; two daughters: Donna Hillmer and husband, Carl, of Columbus, TX and Rachelle Madden and husband, Mitch, of Fayetteville, TX; two sisters: Margie Stancik and husband, Ray, of Columbus; and Diane Grafe and husband, Tony, all of Columbus, TX; five brothers: Bennie Polasek and Mary Ann, of Alleyton, TX; Gus Polasek and wife, Theresa, of Columbus, TX; Henry Polasek and wife, Mary Ly, of Columbus, TX; Frankie Polasek and wife, Debbie, of Ellinger, TX; and Daniel Polasek and wife, Celia, of Buda, TX; brother-in-law, Leroy Canik and wife, Peggy, six grandchildren: Kevin and Kari Hillmer, Brittany and Emily Polasek, Stephanie and Christopher Madden. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnnie Polasek; two infant brothers: Jerome and Lawrence Polasek; and two sisters: Lillian Gaertner and Georgia Krenek. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Koenig-Belvill Knesek Chapel in Fayetteville, Texas. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Burial will follow at the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Fayetteville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, P. O. Box 57, Fayetteville, TX 78940 or to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W. Pearl, La Grange, Texas.
