Dorothy Mae Neel, 78, of Whitney, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Whitney. Graveside services will be noon Friday, May 4, 2007, at Jonesboro Cemetery in Jonesboro. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Marshall & Marshall funeral Directors in Whitney prior to the service. Dorothy was born in Valley Mills, Texas, to the late Clinton M. and Sarah Lou (Gilcrest) Reeves. She married Oscar Neel Jr. in Hobbs, N.M., on Oct. 21, 1946. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Whitney. Preceding her in death were five brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband, Oscar, of Whitney; daughter, Linda Finley, of Hillsboro; son, Bill Neel, of Whitney; sister, Laura Taylor, of Temple; and grandchildren, Willie Finley, Melani Osborn, Tracee Henderson and Jeff Neel.
