Bio

She was the daughter of Addison Davis James (a Doctor and Congressman from KY). Her mother was Henrietta (Penrod) James and after Henrietta died in 1881, Dr. James married her sister, Cordelia Penrod. Anna Belle married Arthur Whitaker on Jan 26, 1899. Very important as far as her life...she was postmistress at Penrod, KY. Children: John Albert Whitaker (U. S. Congressman representing KY from 1948 until his death in 1951) and Henrietta (Mrs. Charles Moore).
