James W. Beasley, 79, of 614 S. Hiawatha, [Sapulpa, Oklahoma] died Wednesday [December 7, 1977] in Bartlett Memorial Medical Center, [Sapulpa]. Born June 13, 1898 in Gainsville [Gainesville], Mo., he came to Sapulpa as a child and lived here all his life. He worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas co. 18 years, and was later an oil driller. [James W. Beasley married Beulah Mae Holmes on September 10, 1957 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma - OK ODCR Records online. (Beulah Romine had married Harrison Holmes on December 20, 1918 in Sapulpa, Creek County, Oklahoma - same source).] Survivors are his widow, Beulah of the home; five stepsons: Eugene Holmes, Rt. 1 Sapulpa, Charles E. Holmes, Sr. of Kellyville, [Oklahoma], James C. Holmes of Sapulpa, Clyde L. Holmes of Rt. 1, Sapulpa, and George T. Holmes of 1100 N. 12th, Sapulpa; two stepdaughters: Mrs. Louise Trout of Rt. 1, Bristow, [Oklahoma] and Mrs. Imogene Jackson of Oaks, Okla.; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also [surviving are] four brothers: D. S. Beasley of Sand Springs, [Oklahoma], Andy Beasley of Locust Grove, [Oklahoma], Ben Beasley of Odessa, Tex., and T. R. Beasley of Sapulpa; fours sisters: Mrs. Delia Armstrong of Wasco, Tex., Mrs. Ella Wilborn of Mounds, [Oklahoma], Mrs. Celia King of Sapulpa, and Miss Dorothy Beasley of Sapulpa. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday in the North Heights Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Sam Gober officiating. Interment will be in South Heights Cemetery, [Sapulpa] under direction of Owen Funeral Home, [Sapulpa]. The family will headquarter at 614 S. Hiawatha.
