FRANK FITZHUGH McCOWN 1916-1993 Services set for Longtime City Employee Fitzhugh McCown, a retired long-time City of Lebanon employee, died Monday, at his farm on Lover's Lane following a possible heart attack. Services for Mr. McCown will be held Wednesday at 2 PM at Nave Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Locke and the Rev. Gerald Noffsinger officiating. Burial will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Mr. McCown was employed for 22 years by the City of Lebanon, retiring as assistant commissioner of public works. A Mason, he was also a veteran, serving in World War II with the U. S. Army in the 1st and 3rd Armies in Germany. He was a member of College Street Church of Christ and lived most of his life in Lebanon. He was the son of the late Frank James McCown and Lillie Tomlinson. Survivors include wife Thelma Harris McCown; son, Dr. Larry H. McCown, Lebanon; brother, Sewell McCown, Lebanon; sisters, Juanita Knowles, Lebanon and Sally Basso, McLean, Virginia. Active pallbearers are Jesse Coe, Bill Donlon, Conie Jenkins, Leonard Ballard, Robert Cantrell, John Richard Hatcher, Dan Reasonover and Jimmy Allen. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Downtown Sunday School Class of College Street Church.
