Adolph C. Svatek died Thursday, January 17, 1946, at 7:00 P.M. in the Caney Valley Hospital. His body was laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery at 10 A.M. Saturday, January 19th, with Rev. E.J. Bily officiating. Adolph Svatek is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Svatek and was born in Flatonia, Feb. 6, 1906. In 1927 he was married to Miss Annie Tupa of Flatonia. To this union 8 children were born. One died in infancy. The couple made their home here. In 1941 he took his family to Wharton. He was a member of the K.J.T. and Knights of Columbus. He was a good member of the Catholic Church and taught his children the Christian way of life. Everyone who knew him feels a great loss. He is survived by his wife and children, Charlie, Frank Adolph, Loraine, Marie, Angeline and Bernard; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Svatek; and 7 brothers, S. Sgt. John Svatek, Tony, Louis and Tom of San Antonio, Joe of Flatonia, James of Moulton and Charlie of Fredericksburg. Pall bearers included 3 cousins, Joe Svatek of Shiner, John Svatek of Hungerford and Frank Svatek of Wharton 3 brothers-in-law, Frank Zamykal, John and Frank Tupa.
