Bio

Royce Alexander Jones, 76, passed from this life to the next on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11AM at the Woodson First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Woodson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:30-8PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge. Royce Alexander Jones was born on October 5, 1941 in Throckmorton County, Texas to Jeff Jones and Dorene Jones. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Jones married Johnnie Sullivan on June 30, 1972 in Breckenridge. He was a member of the Woodson First Baptist Church and owned Jones Backhoe and Construction Company. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Jones of Woodson; children, Rob Jones and wife Bethany of Abilene, Mindy Stimmler and husband, Mark of Tye, Carmella Ellis and husband, David of Roscoe, and Randy King and wife, Tammy of Throckmorton; sisters, Carol Spradlin and Linda Prejean both of Sweetwater; 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, James Jones and Kay Walton. If anyone would like to give a memorial in honor of Royce. The family has requested the Woodson ISD Library and the Woodson Cemetery Fund. Donations can be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office.
