Bio

Ross Harshfield, 50, a farmer who lived 10 miles north of Fort Laramie, Wyo., died Thursday night in an ambulance enroute to a Torrington hospital. He had been ill for nine months. Mr. Harshfield was born May 13, 1898 at Doniphan, Nebr., the son of Charles and Emily Harshfield. He was married to Mildred Johnson, July 17, 1924 at Norton, Kans. He came to the Fort Laramie community 14 years ago from Doniphan, Nebr. Surviving are his widow, and three daughters, Miss Emily Beatrice Harshfield and Mrs. Alice May Peterson of Fort Laramie, and Mrs. Evelyn Herz of Torrington. Four grandchildren also survive. Services will be held Tuesday at 2:20 p.m. from the Fort Laramie church. Rev George Woodard will officiate and burial will be made in the Fort Laramie cemetery.
